Fish and Dill Rice
Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup (180g) white or brown rice.
  • 9 tbsp (90g) Quaker Oats For Rice.
  • 1¾ cups (400ml) water for cooking rice in a rice cooker.
  • 2 fish steaks.
  • ¾ tsp salt.
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper.
  • 1 large onion, chopped finely.
  • 1½tbsp ikan bilis seasoning .
  • 2 tbsp unsaturated cooking oil.
  • 1 tbsp butter.
  • 1½ tsp dried dill.
  • 1 cup frozen peas, defrosted.

Directions:

  • Cut fish into 4 pieces each, remove bones and rub some salt and pepper over fish.
  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan and pan-fry fish until golden in colour. Set aside.
  • Heat ½ tbsp oil in a non-stick pan and fry onions until soft. Turn off the heat.
  • Put washed rice, Quaker Oats for Rice, water, ikan bilis seasoning into a rice cooker. Add in fried onions and dill. Cook rice for around 15 minutes, then add in peas and fish without stirring rice. Once rice is cooked, let it stand for about 10 minutes. Gently fluff up rice with a fork, dish out and serve.
