Anchovies Oats Porridge
It's easy to make and healthy to eat. Anchovies Quaker Oats porridge makes a good breakfast meal.
Ingredients
- ½ cup or 45g Quaker Quick Cook
- ½ cup (70g) rice, washed and soaked for 30 minutes
- 4 cups or 1 litre 2 ½ cups water
- 2 thin slices of Ginger
- 2 tsp. or 10 g Anchovies, washed & soaked
- 2 dry mushrooms, soaked and cut into small pieces
- 40g carrots, shredded
- Light soy sauce
- Sesame oil
- White pepper, to taste
- Pinch of salt
Garnishing
- 2 tsp. fried anchovies
- 1 stalk, sliced spring onions
- 2 tsp. fried onions
Directions:
- Boil rice in water together with anchovies and ginger until it turns to porridge.
- Add oats, carrots and dried mushrooms into the porridge. Simmer 10 minutes.
- Stir in salt.
- To serve, scoop porridge into individuals bowls. Garnish with spring onion, fried onions, fried anchovies & dash of pepper, sesame oil & light soy sauce.
