Heart For Life Porridge

Served with fruits and Quaker Oats, this porridge guarantees a healthy and rich diet for all.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup/90 g oats
  • A handful or approximately 50g rice (washed and rinsed)
  • 750 ml water
  • 1 cup/250 ml low fat milk
  • ½ cup halved or sliced strawberries)
  • 1 Kiwi fruit (sliced)
  • ½ cup sliced grapes

Directions:

  • Put rice & water into a large saucepan. Bring to the boil, turn down heat and simmer for 30 - 40 minutes until rice is soft and creamy.
  • Add oats and milk to the softened rice and cook for a further 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sweeten to taste with a little brown sugar.
  • Serve porridge in individual serving bowls, garnished with the sliced fruit.
